The Maas River

Maas. A river flowing for 925 kilometres through the Netherlands and Flanders, where it is called Maas, through France and Wallonia (French: Meuse, Walloon: Mouze, in Russian: Мёз). The Maas River flows into the North Sea.

The hydronym Maas (we take this form as the original one) is a composite and consists of two root components – Ma- + -as.
