The Adour River |
Adour. A river flowing
for 335 km in south-western France (Occitania and New Aquitaine regions) and
flowing into the Bay of Biscay of the Atlantic Ocean.
The
hydronym Adour is an ancient
composite consisting of two components – Ad-
+ -our, which reflect substrate
hydronymic terms found in the names of water bodies in different territories.
