The
name Aoös (the Russian-language form
of the hydronym – Vjosa) is that of
a river flowing for 272 (280) kilometers within Greece (in its north-western
part, 80 kilometers of channel) and across southern Albania (192 kilometers), then
flowing into the Adriatic Sea.
The
Greek version of the river's name is Αώος, the Latin is Aous.
