Origin of the names of the rivers Boyne, Boina, Bojna, Bojnaja (territory of Ireland, Portugal, Belarus)

 

The Boyne River in Ireland ("Wikipedia")

Boyne. A river flowing for 112 kilometres in the province of Leinster in Ireland and flowing into the Irish Sea (Atlantic Ocean basin).

Boina. A river in Portugal, a tributary of the Arade River (Atlantic Ocean basin). It flows for 30 km in the Algarve region of Portugal.

Bojna (in Belarusian – Bajna, emphasis on the second syllable). The river, the right tributary of the Essa (the basin of the Western Dvina). It flows for 17 kilometers within the Chashniki and Lepel districts of the Vitebsk region of Belarus.

Bojnaja (a reinterpreted version of the name is Bujnaja, the original form is Bojna, with emphasis on the first syllable). River, right tributary of the Neman. It flows for 27 kilometers through the territory of the Stolbtsy district of the Minsk region and the Novogrudok district of the Grodno region of Belarus.
